Chameleon and his partner/half-brother known as Kraven the Hunter were on their yacht when he read in the newspaper a story about a magnetic pistol created by Tony Stark and they both wanted the weapon and destroy Iron Man.

Kraven threw a small device made by the Chameleon into the sea and the device caused Iron Man to be bitten by a shark. Both villains went to the Stark Industries laboratory where they saw Iron Man and escaped the scene. On the yacht, he assured Kraven that he would get Stark's gun and wait until the next day to see what he would do. He took on the appearance of Captain America and went to Tony Stark's office where he lied to Iron Man assuring him that he was attacked by the Chameleon. Iron Man was attacking the real Captain America while the Chameleon went to Stark Industries where he stole the weapon he wanted. In his flight he came to a building of construction material where he saw Iron Man attacking the real Captain. Chameleon removed his mask and activated a concrete mixer. Chameleon attacked Iron Man with the weapon turning him into a living magnet and Iron Man escaped and dropped a heavy container into the sea that fell near the Chameleon and Kraven and both villains were arrested by the Coast Guard.[1]
