- —Stacy X[src]
History
Miranda grew up in a Texas trailer park and was popular at school until her mutant powers manifested. Fleeing from her abusive family and having no job skills and no money to support herself, she survived through sex work. She used her mutant abilities for her benefit, first on the streets and later when she was scouted by Madame Drache of the X-Ranch.[3]
Soon the congregates and leaders of the mutant-hating Church of Humanity attacked the mutant brothel where Miranda worked and burned it to the ground. The X-Men, who were investigating the Ranch at the time, managed to save her, but all her colleagues were killed and the Ranch was destroyed.[7] After that, Stacy joined the X-Men.[8] Stacy had to confront the Church members who sought her demise. During one of her first missions, Stacy was accidentally teleported by a member of the Church to their cathedral headquarters. The X-Men arrived and rescued her before any harm could be done by the Church and its leader the Supreme Pontiff.[8] After a few missions, she quit the team, and left behind a video of herself jumping rope naked for Archangel.[9]
Stacy X lost her mutant powers due to M-Day and returned to the streets and sex work. During this time, she was very depressed for losing her powers.[10] She was later recruited into Night Thrasher's newest incarnation of the New Warriors, who provided her with a suit with built-in tentacles, presumably made of steel or a harder metal. She was apparently killed during a confrontation with S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Cape Killers.[2] Despite this, Miranda eventually resurfaced alive.[11] She began to use makeup to imitate her lost scaly appearance to cope with the absence of her powers.
Seeking a reason to live, Stacy X attended the first meeting of Mindfulness of Mutant Appearances, a support group set up by Domino and Nightcrawler for mutants unable to pass as normal humans. After fellow attendee Briquette took issue with the normal-looking Stacy X's presence, Stacy X opened up about her depressive state and coping mechanism. Briquette reconciled with and embraced Stacy X as the meeting closed.[12]
Following the establishment of a mutant-only nation in Krakoa, Stacy X rejoined her kin and regained her powers. She began operating in the Bower, a place frequented by Krakoans who didn't feel like they fit in where they could vent their frustrations. She also ran a daycare for abandoned mutant babies.[4]Attributes
Powers
- Pheromone Control: Stacy X is sensitive to pheromone emissions. She secretes her own pheromones upon skin-to-skin contact, allowing her to stimulate body functions in others to cause orgasms, vomiting, adrenaline rushes, etc.[3] After regaining her powers, she acquired the ability to launch her pheromones into the air and influence people without making direct contact them.[4]
- Superhuman Vision: Stacy X can see the pherormones exuded by others in her immediate vicinity.[3]
- Scaled-Skin: She has snake-like, scaly skin that gives her an unknown degree of durability.[3]

Notes
- It is unknown how much of Miranda's backstory told on Uncanny X-Men #400 is true, but her conversation with Annie in Uncanny X-Men #416 suggests the part before her meeting with Xavier is true Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A to Z #9 canonized some of it as well.
