Overview
The Paiute People are Native Americans who traditionally dwell in California, Idaho, Nevada and Oregon.[1] Presumably, their history mirrors that of the real world.
American Frontier
During the days of the American Frontier, various tribes of the Paiute interacted with gunslinging heroes such as Kid Colt and the Gunsmoke Kid. They were both allies and enemies of these heroes depending on the circumstances of the time.
A tribe of Paiute were briefly enslaved by an outlaw named Breed Borden and forced to work in his mine until they were liberated by Kid Colt.[2] Another tribe of was given phony guns and tricked into going to war against Comanches of Grey Eagle, however the Comanche brave Red Warrior exposed the hoax. The two tribes wiped out the arms dealer and peace was restored.[3]
Paiute chief Two-Arrows came to the aid of Kid Colt, directing him through the deadly Masabi desert.[4] Later, Kid Colt encountered a band of rebel Paiute's that were under the employ of crooked military officials at Fort Stag who used them to steal gold from government, they were wiped out by Kid Colt.[5] Another group of Paiutes faced starvation thanks to buffalo poaching until the poachers were stopped by the Black Rider.[6]
