History
Sublime was a sentient bacterial life form. It hid itself within the Phoenix Egg that contained Jean Grey and the Phoenix Force until it was discovered by Magneto. Magneto decided to use Sublime for his own ends. Sublime eventually grew tired of Magneto's manipulation and unleashed spores all over Battleworld, infecting and assembling all the versions of Beasts it could find and had them try to seize control of the Phoenix Egg. The old X-Men and Magneto's X-Men, who had been fighting each other for control of the Phoenix Egg, decided to work together and thwart the attack of the Beasts.
Emma Frost and the Stepford Cuckoos worked together to shut down the minds of the Beast one by one. Frost and the Cuckoos also discovered that it was Sublime who was manipulating the Beasts into attacking. Sublime halted the psychic assault by taking control of Mutopia's Beast and forced him to kill Esme Cuckoo thus severing the psychic link between Frost and the Cuckoos.
Sublime was finally defeated when the disembodied mind of Professor X took control of the deceased body of Kid Omega and used his vast psychic powers to destroy Sublime.[1]Notes
