Cast
Matt Damon, Luke Hemsworth, and Sam Neill reprised their roles as Actor Loki, Actor Thor, and Actor Odin, respectively, from Thor: Ragnarok.[10][11] Melissa McCarthy joined them as a stage actress portraying Hela. McCarthy's husband Ben Falcone also appeared as the play's director.[12][13] Sean Gunn reprised his role as Kraglin.[9][14] Russell Crowe appeared as Zeus;[15][16] and Akosia Sabet was cast as the Wakandan and Egyptian goddess Bast, marking her first direct appearance in the MCU.[17][18] Additionally, Brett Goldstein appears as Hercules in the mid-credits scene.
Notes
- Thor: Love and Thunder was originally supposed to open on November 5, 2021, but was later moved to February 18, 2022 and then to February 11 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[19][20] Along with Bale's casting confirmation, Marvel also announced that the film would be pushed back once again to May 6, 2022.[21] The release date was later taken by Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, pushing this film back to July 8, 2022, taking the release date of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.[22]
- Principal photography for this film started on January 26, 2021,[23] and wrapped on June 1[24]

- The armor Thor wears during the attack on New Asgard resembles the armor he wore to hold himself together after Hela put a curse on him.
