This award means so much to me as a musician--but even more to me as a mutant. I thought my career would be over when the world found out what I was. Instead, I've been given a platform to use my art in celebration of my community. And even when my fifteen minutes are up and I'm back to being a one-hit wonder, I'm still going to be here fighting to do just that. Because with or without your applause......the light of mutantkind will never go out!
