History
Dr. Zayn Asghar is the Ant-Man of 2549 A.D, as well as the inventor of the nano-ant swarm.
Early Life
Zayn Asghar was born to eco-scientists in a reclamation settlement in Earth Sector 4. With an aptitude for nano-robotics and a deep interest in pre-Ultronic history, he developed an obsession with somehow redeeming the inventor of Ultron, Henry Pym.[1]
Becoming Ant-Man
After having invented the nano-ant swarm, and inspired by pre Ultronic hero myths, Asghar used his creation to combat paleo-capitalists and disaster opportunists as the Ant-Man.[1]
Time Travel
The nano-ant swarm revealed itself to be a failure in its original purpose to restore the climate, because it could not adequately replace organic life, so Dr. Ashgar turned to cloning, successfully recreating thousands of extinct ant species. However, the cloned ants lacked generations of evolved instinct, so Ashgar decided to train the cloned ants by going back in time and scanning three different methods of insect control from the Ant-Men of the past: Hank Pym, Scott Lang and Eric O'Grady.[1]
Dr. Asghar was one of the few with the clearance to access Dr. Doom's Time Platform and he was aware of the temporal restrictions, but felt violating them was necessary to prevent global starvation, so he used Doom's machine to go back to the early years of Hank Pym as Ant-Man, the current Scott Lang and the first adventures of Eric O'Grady.
By going on this unauthorized time trip, though, Ashgar managed to reveal to All-Father Ultron the way back to Earth. Ashgar was then forced to go back in time again, recruit the three Ant-Men of the past and defeat All-Father Ultron, with the help of the Time Master's Aging Ray, removing the artificial aging that had turned Ultron into the All-Father.[1]
