Dragons (ドラゴン, Doragon)? are a type of monster in Metaphor: ReFantazio. The term refers to artificial creatures resembling western dragons made out of magla.

Profile
The so called "dragons" are a type of man-made weapon created from magla and are one of the weapons used by ancient people in the world wars that devastated the World Before and plunged the world back to a state similar to the medieval era.
They are extremely rare monsters, but are also considered extremely dangerous, usually even stronger than large humans gameplay-wise. The Sanctist Church shut down the Nord Mines because one was discovered to have been living inside it, and Grius, an experienced soldier, advises the protagonist to avoid said dragon despite it being rather weak for a dragon.
Dragons can be sealed inside relics and summoned. One dragon that resides in such a relic was worshiped by the local mustari of Virga Island as the Dragon God Eht. Their dragon priestess was supposed to wield Drakodios, a weapon empowered by Eht to defend against threats against the island, but the prophecy was mistranslated and taken advantage of a human known as Homo Margo to lure in prey. After the party defeats the human, the party learns the true role of the island's priestesses from an uncovered mural. Aside from Eupha, Rella is shown to wield a dragon-enchanted staff and can summon the dragon residing inside it to fight in her place.
Currently, the ones roaming in the open around Euchronia have been worn down by age and are thus weaker than their ancient counterparts. Akademeia, however, has a book containing a fresh copy of the Redscale Apocalypse Dragon at full power that acts as the game's ultimate boss.
