You're a disgrace to your title. I may not make it out alive. But as for you... You're hopeless!"
"O thou who art seared with bitterness... O thou anguished traveler... It is time for thou to choose thy path. O lodestar, whose light reveals the king's own path... Awaken!"
"What?! (...) You call this 'real?' Leaders abandon their people and the innocent die by their scorn... If that's the real world... then it can die alongside you! My name... is Leon Strohl da Haliaetus! My home and my family were taken from me! I am the LAST of my house! I am the last of my noble bloodline! And in the name of my people, I will strike you down where you stand! Come! I will show you a world with honor!Strohl awakening to his Archetype before fighting Klinger, Metaphor: ReFantazio

Warrior, known as Fighter in Japan, is an Archetype in Metaphor: ReFantazio.

History

In times of yore, there lived heroes who sought nothing less than perfection with the sword. Their souls together form the power of the Warrior. Among them, the Adept who slays hordes I dub the Swordmaster, and the Elite disciple of the blade I dub the Samurai. The Warrior Archetype imparts peerless skill with the sword. Its devotees beong on the front lines, punishing their foes with brutal slashing swings. But a sword's purpose is ultimately as a weapon, and it is not weapons alone that decide a battle's victor. Let no Warrior forget this truth.Research documents, Metaphor: ReFantazio

Profile

The Origin Warrior Archetype. The Warrior specialises in physical Slash attacks with swords, primarily on a single _target. With their focus being on Strength, they're left lacking in both magic and resistance to magic attacks.Metaphor: ReFantazio

Warrior is the second Archetype to appear in the game, awakening within Leon Strohl da Haliaetus during his confrontation with the secret Louis Guiabern zealot Captain Klinger at the Nord Mines when the corrupt captain revealed not only that he had knowingly led soldiers to their deaths by sending them into a human-infested Northern Border Fort and murdered any survivors that somehow escaped the massacre, that not only was this part of a blood-soaked scheme to make Louis look like a more promising figure when he eventually promises to purge the humans, but that Klinger was complicit by malicious negligence in the destruction of Strohl's home of Halia by refusing to help when the town was destroyed by humans. Progression with the Warrior lineage is maintained with the protagonist's bond with Strohl, with said bond also allowing his party to access the Archetype for themselves as well.

Strategically, Warriors are straight-forward and orient around out-damaging the enemy with good attack and defense power and specialize in staying on the front row. Their movepool consists of generally single-_target Slash attacks and damage-improving passives. The only other kind of ability the Warrior has is in Turn Icon conservation, as the Archetype can switch to dealing guaranteed Critical hits handicapped by a low accuracy. However, they lack versatility past that, limiting the Archetype in the long run, especially against magic.

When it comes to Synthesis skills, the chemistry is also limited, but having the skills unlocked allows for freedom via multi-_target attack Round Slash and the technical single-_target finisher Bamboo Splitter, which rewards with a Turn Icon, treating the attack as if it's a regular Archetype skill in spite of its tremendous power. Peerless Stonecleaver is a stronger version of that skill, and while it has the same requirement as Bamboo Splitter, it has the additional requirement of an additional ally. It is possible to unlock this skill with three Archetypes from the Warrior lineage, which is already a powerful set-up as every Warrior's attack power is increased the more Warriors there are in the party.

As a secondary ally for Synthesis skills, the Warrior lineage is categorized as a physical combatant (alongside Brawler and Berserker) that consistently unlocks allies' physical skills. They're also part of the category with Thief and Masked Dancer, which plays a part in unlocking Peerless Stonecleaver.
