Events
- September-October: Loomis, a worker at a blood donor clinic in Detroit, abducts people for a group of Xindi-Reptilians who have traveled from the 22nd century to secretly develop a bio-weapon to wipe out Humanity. Captain Jonathan Archer and T'Pol, also from the 22nd century, manage to stop the Xindi before the weapon is completed. Loomis is arrested by local law enforcement. (ENT: "Carpenter Street")
Before deciding on the relatively modern setting of 2004, the writing staff of Star Trek: Enterprise discussed many other periods in which they might set the scenes of "Carpenter Street" which take place in the past. The modern-day setting of 2004 was finally selected because it allowed them to create Loomis as a more relatable villain. (Star Trek: Communicator issue 151, p. 31)
