A waste controller was a Malon occupation in the field of waste management who served aboard waste export vessels. The title of controller was a position equivalent to that of a captain.
Some waste controllers, such as Fesek, worked only part time as controllers, and usually spent only half a year doing this duty, pursuing their hobbies or performing other jobs for the rest of the year. Other known waste controllers were Emck and Vrelk. (VOY: "Night", "Extreme Risk", "Juggernaut")
