Dom Pérignon

Dom perignon
A bottle of Dom Pérignon

Dom Pérignon was a famous and expensive champagne produced by Moët et Chandon, a leading brand and manufacturer of champagne in Epernay, France, on Earth. The champagne was named after the monk Dom Pérignon, who allegedly discovered the champagne method for making sparkling wines.

In 2293, a bottle of Dom Pérignon was used to christen the launch of the USS Enterprise-B from Earth spacedock. The vintage used was 2265. (Star Trek Generations)

The vintage was a homage to the year James T. Kirk assumed command of the USS Enterprise. (Star Trek: The Next Generation Companion, 2nd ed., p. 319)

In the Julian Bashir, Secret Agent holoprogram, the character Caprice handed a bottle of vintage 1945 Dom Pérignon to Julian Bashir. (DS9: "Our Man Bashir")

Vic Fontaine served Dom Pérignon to Odo and Kira Nerys in 2374. It had a vintage of 1955. (DS9: "His Way")
