Iain McCaig (born 19 March 1957; age 67) is a storyboard and conceptual artist who worked as storyboard artist for ILM on Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. In 2007 he worked as costume designer on the fan-made internet series Star Trek: New Voyages episode "World Enough and Time".
Born in Santa Monica, California he attended a school in Glasgow before he went back to the United States.
Other credits as storyboard artist include Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991, starring Linda Hamilton), Hook (1991, starring Robin Williams), Bram Stoker's Dracula (1992, starring Winona Ryder), Interview with the Vampire (1994), the short comedy Taking the Wheel (2002), and Peter Pan (2003).
After he wrote the story for the video game Star Control 2 (1992) and the script for the television film People: A Musical Celebration (1995) he worked as director and assistant producer on the short film The Face in 1998. He also worked as character concept artist and director for the live action sequences on the 1997 video game Killing Time.
As concept artist he worked on Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace (1999), Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones (2002), and Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (2005). In the first movie he also had a small cameo part as Orn Free Taa's Aide. McCaig also worked as concept artist on the fantasy sequel Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) and for Ninth Ray Studios on Charlotte's Web (2006) and Outlander (2008).
He also worked as concept design supervisor on John Carter (2010).
