Lance corporal

Lance corporal was a military rank, the equivalent of which was used by the service organizations of many civilizations. The rank was the second lowest enlisted rank in a fighting organization, below a corporal and above a private.

The German Nazi Heer had the rank equivalent known as gefreiter, which was indicated by an upper arm insignia patch with a chevron. (VOY: "The Killing Game, Part II") Likewise, the SS had the rank equivalent known as sturmmann, which was indicated by a black collar rank insignia with two thin stripes. (ENT: "Storm Front", "Storm Front, Part II") Members of the Ekosian Nazi SS also wore the same collar rank insignia, both with and without the border. (TOS: "Patterns of Force")
