Mike Howden (4 July 1932 – 4 October 2010; age 78) was the actor who played Lt. Rowe in the Star Trek: The Original Series second season episode "I, Mudd". He also appeared as a Romulan Guard in the third season episode "The Enterprise Incident".
Howden filmed his scene for "I, Mudd" on Monday 14 August 1967, and his scene for "The Enterprise Incident" on Monday 24 June 1968, both at Desilu Stage 9.
He had a Northeastern accent, which resulted in him asking Kirk if he had "clearance to be in this arear" aboard the Romulan ship.
