This award was previously mentioned in the personnel files of both Daniel Kwan and Anaanda Ziff in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Eye of the Beholder". It was rewarded to those who worked in the fields of engineering science and subspace research. For the post-remastered episode, this award's name was changed to Tezber for Kwan and to Uyehara for Ziff.
The award was presumably named for veteran Star Trek production personnel and reference work authors Michael and/or Denise Okuda.
