Qo'noS system

The Qo'noS system was an inhabited planetary system located within the Qo'noS sector in the Beta Quadrant. It was a unary star system consisting of a primary and at least three planets, including Qo'noS III. This planet was the homeworld of the Klingons and the capital planet of their empire. Stellar Cartography

An NX-class starship could reach the system from Earth in four days at warp 4.5. (ENT: "Broken Bow")

In 2257, the system's location was labeled on the star chart showing the trajectory of Lieutenant Spock's shuttle. (DIS: "An Obol for Charon")

In 2258, the system's location was labeled on a star chart seen on the main viewscreen of the USS Enterprise. (DIS: "Such Sweet Sorrow, Part 2")

In 2259, the location of this system was labeled on a stellar cartography chart that was seen on the USS Enterprise's ready room viewscreen. This system's symbol was a red Klingon Empire logo, indicating its affiliation with the empire. The large size of the symbol indicated the system's status as the capital system of the empire. (SNW: "Strange New Worlds", "Spock Amok")

In 2399, its location was labeled on a Federation star chart that was in Fleet Admiral Kirsten Clancy's office at Starfleet Headquarters. (PIC: "Maps and Legends")

Background information

The primary of the system was first seen in TNG: "Redemption" as the USS Enterprise-D and IKS Bortas approached Qo'noS.

An alternate name for the system, the "Klingon system", was used by Kurn, in a cut scene from TNG: "Sins of The Father".

According to the display graphic from Star Trek Into Darkness the Qo'noS system was located in the Omega Leonis sector block. Omega Leonis is a real star 112 light years away from Earth. The Qo'noS system was presumably located closer to Earth than that, as the episode ENT: "Two Days and Two Nights" marked the first time a starship from Earth had traveled as far as ninety light years from the Sol system, and Enterprise NX-01 had already visited Qo'noS in the pilot episode of the series.

According to Star Trek: Star Charts (pp. 56 & 62) and Stellar Cartography: The Starfleet Reference Library ("Stellar Cartography" p. 30; "Federation Historical Highlights, 2161-2385"), in 2293, the USS Enterprise-A rendezvoused with the Kronos One in the system. According to a map of the Klingon Empire – prepared by the Scribe K'Tark for the Klingon High Council in the Year of Kahless 893 (2266) – Qo'noS was identified as a Klingon system. In 2368, the system was on the front line of the Klingon Civil War. (The Star Trek: Star Charts (p. 56) stated Kling was an alternative name for Qo'noS.)

According to StarTrek.com, Star Trek Maps [page number?edit], and The Worlds of the Federation [page number?edit], the star was named "Klingon". [2](X)

Apocrypha

The star is called "K'lai Klinzhai" in FASA's The Klingons and "K'thar" in Decipher's Worlds.

According to the Starfleet Medical Reference Manual, the Klingon homeworld was the planet "Epsilon Sagittarii B". Epsilon Sagittarii is also a real star located 143 light years away from Earth. (citation needededit)

According to Star Trek Maps (Charts A & C), the system had an orange binary star and five planets. The Klingon homeworld was the second planet in the system.

Star Trek Online also refers to this system as the Qo'noS system, and established that Praxis is one of Qo'noS' moons.
