Releases of Star Trek: Enterprise on Blu-ray began in 2013. [1] As all four seasons of Enterprise were filmed in high definition, the series did not need to undergo the extensive remastering process required for The Original Series or The Next Generation.
The series' release was first revealed by Enterprise writer/producer Mike Sussman on Twitter. [2] [3] Robert Meyer Burnett, who produced the documentaries and other bonus material on the TNG Blu-ray sets, is taking a similar role in production of the Enterprise sets. [4]

Cover art fan vote
On 11 November 2012, CBS and StarTrek.com published three prospective packaging designs for the Enterprise Blu-ray release, to allow fans to vote on their favorite choice via the official Star Trek Facebook page. [5] The totals below each image represent the vote count as of 7 January 2013. [6]
Ultimately, however, CBS chose to go with a completely different design over the initial three concepts. CBS Home Entertainment Executive VP Ken Ross explains:
"I didn't feel that any of the three proposed covers really nailed it and represented that, so we listened to the fans and changed course. We dug deeper and found an old UPN promo poster utilized during the launch campaign for the series which introduces the cast in a strong, heroic pose in their EVA suits as the pioneers of space exploration in the Star Trek universe. It harkens back to that sense of discovery, heroism and exploration that served as the basis for the Star Trek concept. The image conveys the same spirit of adventure as The Right Stuff and other iconic stories of pioneers exploring a new frontier.
We felt there was no better way to show who those characters really were and their significant role in the Trek mythos. That art became the basis for the new Blu-ray cover design. And for those lovers of the ship, we're going to feature it on the back cover. We also read that many fans thought images representative of key scenes/episodes from the respective seasons should be used, and we are going to include such images on the backs as well." [7]
