Timothy "Tim" Peel is an MGFX (Motion Graphic Effects) designer and first assistant art director for Star Trek: Discovery, the ST: "Runaway" and "Children of Mars" episodes, and the entirety of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds' second season. Peel and his team worked on numerous on-screen graphics, including Federation star charts, the Verubin Nebula hologram, Theta Zeta, and animations seen on USS Discovery and USS Enterprise consoles. Peel regularly posts samplings of his own/team's work (for Star Trek in particular) on his X (formerly Twitter) account. As part of the Art Department, Peel essentially provided for Kurtzman-era Star Trek the exact same services as predecessor Mike Okuda and his team had provided Berman-era Star Trek with in his role as scenic artist – and who incidentally reprised that role for the concurrently produced second and third seasons of Star Trek: Picard.
Career
Peel previously did motion graphics work for The Shape of Water (2017) starring Star Trek: Discovery's Doug Jones.
Most of his work he did on motion picture productions outside Star Trek was in the service of Junction Box Design, a digital design studio he headed. [5]
