The USS Hoover was a Federation Hoover-class starship operated by Starfleet during the mid-23rd century.
In the Federation-Klingon War of 2256-57, this ship was on patrol duty in the same sector as the USS Gagarin and the USS Muroc when they were simultaneously ambushed and destroyed by Klingon warships. The loss of all three ships resulted in 462 Starfleet casualties. (DIS: "Si Vis Pacem, Para Bellum")
