The Amarcan-class was a type of starship used by the Romulan Star Empire's Star Navy in the 24th century. The Amarcan-class was a warbird design introduced in 2344, named after the widely-respected Commander Amarcan.
Specifications
They used a double-hull configuration similar to that of the later D'deridex-class, were about 20% larger than previous warbird classes, had more graceful lines than the K't'inga-class ships still being purchased from the Klingons, and were estimated to have about three times the mass and fighting strength of a Federation Constellation-class cruiser.
The class was armed with disruptor weaponry and the powerful type of Plasma torpedoes used by the Vas Hatham class in the 2260s and were protected by standard deflector shields and an armored hull plating that could take multiple direct hits from photon torpedoes with only minimal damage. Like all Romulan vessels they were equipped with a Cloaking device for stealth and could reach a speed up to Warp factor 9.1.(TOS novel: Vulcan's Heart)
