Borg diamond

The Borg diamond was a 24th century Borg starship type, a science vessel class in Borg Collective service by the 2370s decade. (ST video game: Armada)

A ship of this class served as the Borg Queen's vessel in the year 2375. (VOY episode: "Dark Frontier")

History and specifics

Borg diamond I
22nd century Borg diamond.

The Borg Collective operated a Borg diamond class by the 22nd century. Among other starship classes of the Borg fleet, the Borg diamond went through three different versions in the 22nd, 23rd and 24th centuries, respectively. (ST video game: Legacy)

In the 2370s, the Borg Queen's vessel contained the royal chamber and was integrated into the Borg Unicomplex. Following the capture of Seven of Nine in 2375, the Borg Queen detached the vessel from the unicomplex. Her vessel was escorted by a Borg cube during the assimilation of Species 10026, witnessed by the queen and Seven personnally. Following Seven's rescue by the

, the Borg Queen's vessel pursued the Federation shuttle at transwarp velocities. The Queens' vessel was destroyed when USS Voyager fired photon torpedoes and collapsed the transwarp conduit it was traveling in. (VOY episode: "Dark Frontier")

The Collective operated several of the ships by 2376. During the Borg Invasion of 2376, the Borg diamond served as a science vessel class. It was heavily armed and could be outfitted with four special weapons, including nanite infestation, computer override, shield remodulation and ultritium burst. Ships of the class were smaller than Borg cubes. (ST video game: Armada)

This class of Borg diamond saw action during the Borg Invasion of 2377, which included conflicts with Species 8472 and the Federation and a temporary alliance between the Collective and the Federation to repel Species 8472 and force them back into fluidic space. The Borg Queen was temporarily stranded with Collective forces in the Alpha Quadrant and left separated from the rest of the Hive Mind in the Delta Quadrant. The Borg Queen's diamond served as her flagship and survived the engagements. (ST video game: Armada II)

In the 25th century, the Khitomer Alliance and Delta Alliance powers identified ships of this class as Borg octahedron. The octahedrons operated in the 2400s and 2410s were sizeable vessels, nearly as large as Borg cubes. The Borg Queen's octahedron served as the flagship of the 25th century Borg queen. (STO - Task Force Operations mission: "Borg Disconnected")

A Borg octahedron was part of the fleet assigned to Unimatrix 0047 in fluidic space. It was destroyed by a Federation-Klingon Empire-Romulan Republic task force. (STO - Borg Advance mission: "Fluid Dynamics")

In 2409 the Borg Queen transferred her consciousness into one of these vessels after her physical body was destroyed by an away team possibly composed of Starfleet, KDF, and/or Romulan Republic forces, under the auspices of Star Fleet Battle Group Omega. The diamond was subsequently destroyed in a concerted attack by the Battle Group Omega task force, at the cost of the USS Houston. (STO - Task Force Operations missions: "Into the Hive", "Hive Onslaught")
