The Caribbean is a region of the planet Earth. It includes the Caribbean Sea, its islands (including Cuba, Jamaica, Puerto Rico and Trinidad) and the surrounding coasts.
History and specifics
By the year 1992, Caribbean nations included the Bahamas, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, and Puerto Rico. (TOS - Khan comic: "Issue 2")
In 2269, after the USS Enterprise destroyed three Klingon corvettes in battle, the starship sailed through the resulting clouds of vapor "as majestically as an ancient Spanish galleon over a placid Caribbean bay." (TOS novel: Spock Must Die!)
Kelvin timeline
In September 1992, Augment dictator Alexander Newton annexed the United States, Canada, Central America and and the nations of the Caribbean into his Northern American Coalition. As the Eugenics Wars progressed, squabbles soon turned to nuclear war, and in 1996 Newton's New American Empire occupied the Caribbean, Central America, and the northern half of South America. Later that year, the Augment dictatorships were overthrown. (TOS - Khan comics: "Issue 2", "Issue 3")
In fiction
In the holonovel The Falcon's Gold, the 19th century pirate ship Reaver and the galleon Atocha sailed in the Caribbean. (Last Unicorn RPG - Holodeck Adventures module: The Falcon's Gold)
The Caribbean was the setting of the 1950s-era holonovel Tigers of the Deep. Retired naval submarine commander Dick Fuller operated a bar in a port settlement there. (Last Unicorn RPG - Holodeck Adventures module: Tigers of the Deep)
