Downfall

Downfall is the second mission in the Age of Discovery storyline of Star Trek Online and part of an alternate tutorial experience for the Federation faction. In-universe, it can be replayed by the 23rd century Starfleet temporal agent from the STO video game: Agents of Yesterday expansion as a "historical simulation". Description

Mission text

I'm not going to lie to you... this war is not going well for the Federation. Every day, the Klingons gain ground, and every day, we fall a little further back. Well, not today. Today, we stand, together, as Starfleet. Today, we prove that our ideals can withstand a hostile invasion force. I’m honored to serve with each and every one of you. Go out there and make me proud.

Summary

Following the hostile encounter with Klingon raiders in the Delta Volanis Cluster, a group of Starfleet Academy cadets were put in charge of a Malachowski-class starship. (STO - Age of Discovery mission: "Secrets")

They are called to help defend Starbase One at Earth against another Klingon attack, thus participating in the battle "Defense of Starbase One".
