Faltos

Faltos was a planet of legend, that was known as one of the 12 Wonders of the Universe. Its inhabitants were mostly crew from various races, among them Klingons, Crystalline Entities and other species. It existed in its own plane of existence. (TNG comic: "Here Today")

History and specifics

Faltos was a world where many ships and crews from different species were trapped. In that capacity, they were able to coexist together, establishing a tribunal government. Though a few tried to escape, but failed, they lived in perfect harmony. However, when the Enterprise-D found Faltos, it was revealed that Doctor Noonien Soong, following his encounter with the Crystalline Entity, had not only discovered the location of Faltos and programmed it into Data's memory banks, but had also provided Data with instructions on how he could escape from Faltos. It was suggested that the Crystalline Entity was in some way the Creator of Faltos, but the crew did not have time to establish the details of this particular claim.

When the Enterprise crew prepared to leave, Captain Picard offered to take other residents of Faltos away from the planet if they wished, but the Faltus Tribunal chose to remain and refused to share this offer with the people, feeling that offering options would upset the peace. Although the crew of the Enterprise were able to escape Faltos, the file containing its coordinates and instructions on how to escape was deleted as they departed. (TNG comic: "Here Today")
