Gerda Roness was a tall, blonde, female Human who was a Federation Starfleet officer in the 24th century. She was assigned to Deep Space 9 and the USS Defiant in the 2370s decade.
Biography
Starfleet career
Roness assisted in the evacuation of the colony at Europa Nova during the Gateways Crisis in May of the year 2376. (DS9 - Gateways novel: Demons of Air and Darkness)
During Defiant's refit in preparation for its three month tour of exploration in the Gamma Quadrant, Commander Elias Vaughn assigned Roness to collate the refit and repair data. She also assisted Lieutenant John Candlewood with upgrades to the computer core. While checking diagnostic reports on a couple of padds, Roness collided with Lieutenant junior grade Nog in a corridor. Nog was also checking data on a padd and not looking where he was going either. She tried to help Nog up and apologised as he was the senior officer, but he brushed her off good-naturedly, also apologising.
Roness was the beta shift flight controller when the Defiant began its mission in June. In the second week of the mission, she sustained a mild concussion on the Vahni Vahltupali homeworld during an earthquake. Shortly afterwards she was killed aboard the shuttle

Gerda was close friends with Sam Bowers, Jeannette Chao, Kaitlin Merimark, Nog, and T'rb.
