His son, Ravi Chandra was born in India. He grew up in Patna.

In 2153, Captain Jonathan Archer included Ensign Ravi Chandra in a landing party to planet Kaletoo. Chandra presumed this was because the captain thought Chandra's experience with the Indian Thar Desert was an advantage in the desolate climate on Kaletoo. (ENT novel: Last Full Measure)

Alternate timelines

In the Kelvin timeline, India formed the core of the Khanate, the Augment nation ruled by Khan Noonien Singh, in 1996. All other Augment nations except the Khanate were warlike. The Khanate was drawn into conflict when Khan's ally Bernard Maltuvis betrayed him and the Australia-based Maltuvisland attacked. Khan's forces emerged victorious. (TOS - Khan comic: "Issue 3")

In another alternate timeline, Augments ruled Earth from India. The vain and brutal empress kept tigers in her palace. In 2263, her forces captured Starfleet officers from different permutations of the Kelvin timeline. Recognizing his Vulcan strength, the empress allied with the vengeful Commander Simon Grayson, and together they murdered the other officers. (TOS - Boldly Go - IDIC comic: "Part 4")
