Jupiter Station was a 24th century Federation space station, a Helios-class research station in Starfleet service by the 2370s decade. It was located in orbit of the gas giant Jupiter in the Sol star system, located in Sector 001 of the galaxy's Alpha and Beta Quadrant. (VOY episode: "Life Line")

United Earth's Starfleet operated a space station named Jupiter Station by the 2150s. (ENT episode: "Silent Enemy")

It is unclear whether the 22nd century station existed into the 24th century, or whether a later replacement facility shared the same designation. The Gamma Quadrant Sourcebook mentions that Jupiter Station was destroyed during the Dominion War, so the facility seen in "Life Line" was newly built.

History and specifics

22nd century

Earth Starfleet's Jupiter Station in 2153.

In the 22nd century, sometime before 2153, it was the site of a military engagement involving the MACOs, including Hideaki Chang. (ENT novel: Last Full Measure)

By 2155, it was the furthest colony that the United Earth government had established within the Sol system. (ENT - The Romulan War novel: Beneath the Raptor's Wing)

24th century

Sometime during the early 24th century saw Tuvok on leave with a temporary assignment to the station. (ST website: StarTrek.com)

Later by the 24th century, it was the location of Starfleet's Holographic Image and Programming Center, where Dr. Lewis Zimmerman did his work developing the Emergency Medical Hologram program. (VOY episode: "The Cloud", DS9 episode: "Doctor Bashir, I Presume")

In 2372, the USS Samson was scheduled to arrive at Jupiter Station for debriefing following the testing on it's enhanced weapon and _targeting systems during war games against the USS Enterprise-E. Unfortunately, the Samson was destroyed before leaving the Pantera Nebula. (TNG eBook: A Sea of Troubles)

The station had a café whose manager resigned in 2373. While on Deep Space 9 in that year, Dr. Zimmerman asked Leeta if she would like to take the position. (DS9 episode: "Doctor Bashir, I Presume")

In 2375, Zimmerman was able to convince Starfleet to enact Directive 731.9, which allowed for the removal of Vic Fontaine's holomatrix to Jupiter Station from Deep Space 9. (DS9 short story: "So a Horse Walks into a Bar...")

During the Totality Crisis in 2381, a number of Starfleet vessels suffered from warp core breaches. The matter was kept under a veil of secrecy and led to the Enterprise-E being sent a message from Starfleet Command to drop out of warp at Kuiper 575 in order for both the Enterprise-E and the USS Titan to be escorted to Jupiter Station. At the time on Stardate 58562.5, multiple Starfleet ships suffered from catastrophic warp core failiures leading to the deaths of thousands - some due to the actual destruction whilst others were lost when the major research platforms suffered from the loss of their shields which led to Jupiter's deadly radiation killing them. In 2383, Esperanza Piñiero had made arrangements for Federation President Nanietta Bacco to visit Jupiter Station as part of a diplomatic tour. President Bacco later sent Piñiero instead, although the arrival of the

RIS Enderavat

at Earth carrying Fleet Admiral Devix of the Romulan Imperial Fleet and Praetor of the Romulan Star Empire Gell Kamemor scuppered the plans. (ST - Typhon Pact novel: Raise the Dawn)

25th century

The Other at Jupiter Station

In 2410, Jupiter Station was one of several sites _targeted by the Iconians during their invasion of the Sol System. The station sent out a distress signal, which was answered by the Gorn vessel IKS Varanus. (STO mission: "Midnight")

In 2411, the comatose Lieutenant Ilia, a 23rd century Starfleet officer missing in action since 2273, received care at the Starfleet Medical center of Jupiter Station. A Terran strike force from Imperial Starfleet, led by Marshal Kathryn Janeway, sacked Jupiter Station. While Janeway was left behind, Captain Sylvia Tilly escaped with the Terran forces back to the mirror universe, taking Ilia with them. (STO - Terran Gambit mission: "Red Shift")

Vice Admiral Kathryn Janeway, working with Admiral Leeta (mirror), organized a counter-strike at Jupiter Station to rescue Lieutenant Ilia. A Khitomer Alliance task force entered the mirror universe from Jupiter Station's location to infiltrate the mirror-Jupiter Station and Terran Spacedock. STO - Terran Gambit mission: "Blue Shift")

The Other, a living machine from the mirror universe, controlled by Terran Emperor Wesley Crusher travelled to the Sol to digitize the system. As part of Operation: Jupiter, the Alliance dispatched ships, led by Captain Koren and the IKS Bortasqu', to engage the Other and its Terran escorts. When the Other arrived, it digitized Jupiter Station, the planet Jupiter itself and part of Koren's fleet. The Alliance forces retreated to Mars.

Following the resolution of the conflict with Emperor Crusher,

V'ger

formed a family with the Other, now calling itself C'qer. C'qer restored what it had digitized, returning Jupiter and Jupiter Station to existence. (STO - Terran Gambit mission: "The Fujiwhara Effect")
