In the Kelvin timeline, this system was near the 23rd century borders of the Federation. In the 2250s decade, circa the year 2258, the Starfleet starship USS Enterprise was on a shakedown cruise in this vicinity when the crew received a distress call from Perenorean colony ship Eparthaa, under attack from a Dre'kalak warship in the Marr-i-nul system. The Enterprise came to the defense of the Perenoreans, causing the Dre'kalak to retreat. (TOS novel: The Unsettling Stars)
