Nukara Prime is a planet, the second planet of the Nukara system, located between Federation and Klingon Empire space in the Boreth sector of the galaxy's Beta Quadrant.
History and specifics
A class Y demon world, Nukara Prime emitted deadly thermonic radiation and had a sulfuric-laced atmosphere with temperatures surpassing 440° Fahrenheit. Of scientific interest, a number of spacial rifts on the surface connected to an iteration of the mirror universe. (STO - Star Trek Magazine short story: "Mirror Image, Part 1")
In 2409, a Tholian invasion force occupied the planet to research and leverage the rifts for military purposes. At one point the Tholians captured an advanced Odyssey-class Terran Empire dreadnought and secured it in a multi-level underground facility. A Federation task force in environmental suits established a base camp on the planet to study the rifts, destroy the captured starship, repel the invasion, and debrief captured mirror universe personnel. In the aftermath of the occupation, the USS Morgan orbited Nukara Prime and led efforts to return crews to their universe. Captain Va'Kel Shon traveled to Nukara Prime aboard the USS Enterprise-F's captain's yacht
