Optronic cable

Optronic cable (also called opti-cable) was a type of cable that was used onboard various starships as part of the optical data network on the ships computer system.

In 2268 Bridget McLellan had used the backup optronic cable that had been stored on a spindle to hook up the computer system controlling the escape pod to the transporter control logic processor. This was done to increase the computing power on the Dulcinea to process the recovered sensor logs from the Orion freighter Treana. (VAN - Declassified novella: The Stars Look Down)
