edit@Girart de Roussillon, I created the template for this campaign, it could be reused if this first "Oceania month" has further editions.
As it is a banner for French Wikipedia logged-in users worldwide, I believe it would be fine to _target Canada while having the fundraising there, @JBrungs (WMF) what do you think? Based on you reply, I'll create the campaign.
Trizek from FR 15:13, 25 November 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Trizek,
- Yes, I agree. Fundraising banners will be displayed to non logged in users on French Wikipedia in Canada but that should not interfere with this campaign. Have a good campaign. Best. JBrungs (WMF) (talk) 05:44, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Girart de Roussillon and Trizek: Please not that requesting a campaign should take place at least 14 days in advance according to the new CentralNotice guidelines. However, with the prepared banner and the short duration (campaigns longer than 14 days need community approval), it should be fine as is. It could have been considered using a Watchlist-summary instead of a CentralNotice banner as this campaign only _targets logged-in users in a single project.
Links: campaign, banner, preview. Please approve everything so that we can enable the campaign. Best, —DerHexer (Talk) 13:08, 26 November 2024 (UTC)- @JBrungs (WMF), thank you!
- @DerHexer, usually these campaigns use the site notice, which is annoying these users. This is why I encouraged the community to move to CentralNotice instead, as it has better filtering solutions in user preferences.
- I reviewed the campaign (edited it as it is a event) and the banner, I think we are set now. Trizek from FR 13:33, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Trizek: Events is only used for conferences and the like. Article contests, edit-a-thons, etc. are categorized with “article writing”. With this interpretation, I have reverted the change, but please feel free to change it back when you disagree. I don't mind much, but that's how we were using it usually. - I'll follow the custom. :) Trizek from FR 16:54, 26 November 2024 (UTC)
