I have implemented both standard and custom implementations of TOTP, both on the front-end and the backend. I also use a professionally for all our online infrastructure platforms and services. I have read the 2FA help page, and I'm aware of the importance of recovery codes. I am also a long time member of wikipedia, with casual to sporadic contributions. Lastly, what prompted my request is that my account has had 200+ failed login attempts in the past 2 days or so, and it's ongoing. Not done - this is a bit of a judgment call and I'm sorry to decline your request, but I think we generally want users requesting this permission to have some editing history, otherwise we would innundate ourselves with requests from new accounts (and subsequently increase the risk and need for capacity to respond when codes are lost, etc.). I'm an edit filter manager on enwiki and I've recently decided to make this request after reviewing a request for a filter about a cross-wiki LTA, and realizing I can't actually see anything that other wikis have done to get rid of them (deliberately trying to be vague for obvious reasons). I also have found that a few enwiki filters have global context, and so I'm unable to actually see most of the context behind the filter (given that the majority of the context ends up being locked behind a metawiki filter). Hello, I would like to request global IP block exemption for my account. I've been doing cross-wiki anti-vandalism work and running into blocks on Wikivoyage projects in particular, saying my IP is blocked (this happens when I try to log into these projects to revert vandalism). My ISP uses CGNAT, so I may appear to have the same IP address as others and my IP may be flagged as spam in some cases. Hi, are you affected by a global block or are the blocks just regular local blocks? If it is the latter, global IP block exempt will not help you as it will only exempt you from global blocks. If you are affected by local blocks, you need to request a local IP block exemption. EPIC (talk) 20:31, 10 June 2024 (UTC)
I don't believe they are local blocks because I've had it happen fairly often.. I've definitely seen it on the Wikivoyage projects, but those are definitely not the only ones that I've been effected on - there are other small wiki projects where my IP is blocked. I have previously made a mobile hotspot from my phone to get around it. I would prefer to not use my phone's mobile data though. Ternera (talk) 21:09, 10 June 2024 (UTC)

They will soon expire so I am proactively making my request to get permanent status for my GIPBE/IPBE rights since I still travel for work and do not ever expect that to change any time soon. Also, the privacy issues are still also always an ongoing concern for me although I understand that is not a great factor in the decision here. @Base granted me the temporary rights and @Vermont participated in previous discussion as well as @AmandaNP who did not substantially participate other than being aware of it enough to close it. I am requesting IPBE for two weeks because the IP address at the hotel I am staying in Pakistan is blocked as an anonymizing webhost, and the webhost for that IP address is blocking some sites such as Wikimedia Commons, necessitating use of a VPN. I have only been able to make edits from my mobile phone because I have roaming enabled, but that is expensive and I would prefer to use hotel Wi-Fi. Hi everyone. I've been helping out the SWMT and using SWViewer/Twinkle Global to revert xwiki vandalism. Most of the time, my setup with these tools works fine. More often than I would like, I've found myself going through Captchas and running into abuse filter messages on some small wikis; the latter of which can be quite annoying because it has hindered me from reverting vandalism or tagging pages for deletion in some cases. Because of this, I would like to request global rollback to make my anti-vandalism work more effective. Rollback is something I am already familiar with after using it on enwiki.
