Pages not imported from Incubator into the Konkani Wikipedia

Status:    Done

While investigating missing pages and broken redirects in the Konkani Wikipedia (gomwiki), I realised that some pages had never been imported from Incubator during the creation of the Wikipedia. Unfortunately these pages have now been deleted from Incubator too. I used the deletion log entries to compile this list of pages that were not imported into the Wikipedia. It was a crude method, so if you can use a better method to come up with a possibly more accurate list, then that would be great. While compiling a list, one must keep in mind that pages may have been imported into gomwiki, but then moved to another name, so the same page title may not exist at gomwiki even though the page may have been imported. Similarly, it's also possible that the page was not imported, but a page now exists at gomwiki the same page title that was created later without relation to the Incubator page. I have tried to take these into account while compiling my list. Hence, I request you to please import the unimported pages, or alternatively, please undelete them at Incubator, then I can import them. --The Discoverer (talk) 06:15, 20 June 2016 (UTC)

I deleted the pages which remained on Incubator under the impression that they had meanwhile all been imported by someone (particularly the pages which were in Latin script, which I did not import to gomwiki when it was created, as Langcom's decision had actually been to have a gom-deva wiki). I do wonder why there are some Devanagari pages which were not imported. Anyway, I can restore them. --MF-W 16:44, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
A temporary administrator (Sushilmishra) did import the Latin script pages (most of them, at least). Do you think that maybe the page names were problematic and that's why they had errors while importing? The Discoverer (talk) 17:47, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
That's possible; I especially suspect that the pages with "Wp/gom/<Space>Name" might have been troublesome. --MF-W 21:39, 20 June 2016 (UTC)
That's exactly what I was thinking. However, it's interesting that many of the pages matching that expression did get imported.
Another thing: The space you removed from the list I created actually exists in the name: incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/_Wp/gom/Bhag_Paulu. But the leading space does not display when you view the page! The Discoverer (talk) 04:16, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
Are you sure that page is different from [1]? I get shown the same deleted page with 285 revisions. - I gave you test-admin rights on Incubator now, this way you can solve see the deleted pages yourself & restore (then import and delete again) them. --MF-W 18:46, 21 June 2016 (UTC)
Yes, it seems to be the same page with or without the space before 'Wp'. I've started with a few pages and I've realised it's going to take me a long time because I'll be doing just a few each day. That's because for each page I'm first checking if a similar page exists in the Konkani Wikipedia, and after importing, I'm moving the pages to their correct titles. For some pages, import is failing, probably because of their names. In such cases I'm manually copying the source and trying to save the attribution in the comments. Case in point: [2] -> [3] The Discoverer (talk) 17:02, 22 June 2016 (UTC)
A way to circumvent this is doing an XML import - in the XML file, you can change the page title before importing. --MF-W 17:13, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for the suggestion, maybe I'll do the XML method.
I generated my list of files to check for importing by comparing the list of all files in gomwiki with the deletion log on incubator. However, I'm concerned that it's likely that some pages were created from scratch on gomwiki without relation to a page that did not get imported from incubator. Could you help me identify such pages? Would it be possible for you to generate a list of page titles on incubator that have a larger size in bytes than the same page title on gomwiki? The Discoverer (talk) 19:04, 24 June 2016 (UTC)
I'm afraid I don't know how to do that. Maybe someone else reading this page can help. --MF-W 07:24, 25 June 2016 (UTC)
If you could give me a list of page titles and their sizes in incubator and a similar list of pages and their sizes on gomwiki, then I think that I will be able to match the titles. Or perhaps if it is possible to run a script that will search gomwiki for a few words from each page on incubator then we will get an idea of what content from incubator exists (or doesn't) on gomwiki? The Discoverer (talk) 08:44, 25 June 2016 (UTC)
I am unable to do any of these things, sorry. The list I used for exporting/deleting Wp/gom was Special:Prefixindex, so I don't have that anymore, and I also dont know how to get a list of page sizes automatically. --MF-W 16:47, 26 June 2016 (UTC)
Ok. In that case, I guess the only way to know would be to manually check the contents of each page, but that would be too tedious for 2000-odd pages. I've finished with importing my list of 300 or so pages (not all were needed to be imported). The Discoverer (talk) 18:36, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
Ok. So you do still need the rights on Incubator or can I remove them? --MF-W 20:03, 1 July 2016 (UTC)
Yes, you can remove the rights and you can delete the subpage of my list on meta; in case I notice something in incubator that I would like to consider for importing, can I ask you for undeletion? The Discoverer (talk) 04:09, 2 July 2016 (UTC)
Of course. --MF-W 13:52, 2 July 2016 (UTC)

This was reported as crosswiki spam on Wikidata (see d:Wikidata:Requests_for_deletions#Q25181332). The delete template was added to the page, but it keeps being removed by someone who is likely to be the original author and there doesn't seem to be any local admins to contact. - Nikki (talk) 21:15, 2 July 2016 (UTC)

Time of recent changes on sl projects

Status:    Not done
Moved from RFH.--Syum90 (talk) 15:41, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

The time on all slovene (sl) projects except Wikipedia is two hours behind (recent changes, page history, signature and timestamp). Where could that be fixed? --Janezdrilc (talk) 23:05, 30 June 2016 (UTC)

I think the slovene wiktionary and other projects are merely using the default timezone, UTC. If the local timezone needs to be switched to the local time in Slovenia, the community should discuss the change and then request it on Phabricator. Snowolf How can I help? 00:23, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

I believe the discussion is not even necessary since sl:Wikipedia has used a local time for many years. This is just meant to be a unification between projects. Besides our small projects (s, q, b, wikt) don't have live communities as such to achieve this consensus. --Janezdrilc (talk) 12:09, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Not done - you'll have to ask at Phabricator if you wish configurations like that changed. We can't help but offer information here. Best regards, —MarcoAurelio 21:39, 8 July 2016 (UTC)

Request to Approve OAuth Consumer for Wikimaps Warper v.2.2

Status:    Done

This is a request to approve the v.2.2 OAuth consumer application for Wikimaps Warper. The Wikimaps Warper is an IEG awarded project which helps to geo-reference historical maps on Commons. The Wikimaps Warper application runs on https://warper.wmflabs.org and uses the Labs proxy. This OAuth application is similar to before (v.2.1) but configured to use HTTPS callback URL - as the previous consumer is set up for HTTP (It would be good to keep that one also as we are trying to debug an authentication issue with the API). Many thanks in advance! --Chippyy (talk) 13:06, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

It has been approved by @Reedy already. Thanks. —MarcoAurelio 18:18, 7 July 2016 (UTC)

Updated OAuth consumers for Wiki Ed dashboard

Status:    Done

I've got two updated versions of Wiki Education Foundation dashboard consumers, for production and staging:

These consumers add "Edit your user preferences" to the required permissions. The Wiki Ed instance of the dashboard will set preferences related to VisualEditor when each student joins a course, to make sure these newcomers have a consistent editing experience that matches their training modules. Ping Hoo man.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 20:50, 1 July 2016 (UTC)

Done @Sage (Wiki Ed):, what do we do with versions 1.0, etc. of the same consumer? Do you still need them active? —MarcoAurelio 18:24, 7 July 2016 (UTC)
MarcoAurelio: Thanks! I will switch over to the new ones and make sure everything is working fine, and then I'll confirm that we're done with the old ones. Please leave them active for the moment.--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 17:45, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
MarcoAurelio: I've done the switch. The version 1.* consumers for staging and production can now be disabled:
These related consumers are also no longer in use and can be disabled:
--Sage (Wiki Ed) (talk) 18:21, 11 July 2016 (UTC)
Also, please approve this one, which is for my local development environment. Thanks!

Done - I think I got them all Sage (Wiki Ed). —MarcoAurelio 11:08, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

Blocking of user in vepwiki

Hello, I'm user from Vepsian Wikipedia, and we are without active administrator. Cross-wiki disruption by Pangkakit

Status:    Not done

For several months now, Pangkakit has been uploading unnecessarily high quality copyrighted images to several different language projects. The first wave of these were to essentially advertise his friend code in a smartphone video game (w:Monster Strike). The images of this type have been deleted across all of the projects they were uploaded to. From what I can remember it was en, zh, zh-yue, fi, it, id, ms, tr, uk, ru (his version of the image is still hosted on ru.wp but it is an old version at ru:File:Monster Strike.jpg); in many of these cases he even made machine translated versions of the page in order to host his file on them. I've also discovered he has done the same to several other wiki-style sites. It's all the same screenshot with his friend ID# number in it to show off his desired characters.

Now, he has done it again with a different smartphone video game (the popular worldwide Pokémon Go), and I've attempted to tag them for deletion (again) but he persistently logs on as an IP and removes the deletion tags across every project. The files are currently at id.wp, ms.wp, zh.wp, zh-yue.wp, and tr.wp where he has been preventing the speedy deletion tags from being kept on the image pages (at zh.wp there is a local user who has since tagged it for proper speedy deletion) and it is also at ru.wp where my attempts to orphan and tag the image have resulted in local users debating its utility. Pangkakit needs to be told what he's doing is wrong. I'm sure that all of these individual projects have guidelines on how to handle copyrighted images that he's violating (a >1MB screenshot of mostly dead space) and that this is definitely disruption as he's more or less insisting that this one English-language screenshot be used to illustrate a video game that is not (yet?) available in China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia, Ukraine, or Turkey.--—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 11:52, 24 July 2016 (UTC)

If you want the account to be locked, you should use SRG. Ruslik (talk) 11:57, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
I was told to try this first, and SRG seems to not have people explain the issue for the block. Does this qualify for that? Also, he has once more deleted all of the deletion tags I put up on the relatively lower traffic id, ms, tr, and zh-yue Wikipedias (the file has been deleted from zh). Would a global lock prevent disruption like this? [4] [5] [6] [7] [8] [9]Ryūlóng (竜龍) 20:35, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
He keeps hopping on new IPs to remove the speedy delete tags.—Ryūlóng (竜龍) 23:59, 24 July 2016 (UTC)
At the top of this page it says: "This page is for requesting that a specific administrative action (such as page deletion) be performed by a steward or global sysop on a Wikimedia wiki having no active administrators." You should list specific administrative actions that we are asked to perform. Ruslik (talk) 19:19, 26 July 2016 (UTC)
