Wikimedia Statistics can be difficult to interpret. What is your impression, how many steady contributors do you have?

Where do your contributors live (regions/country)?
- Most of our contributors live in Cebu and the Visayas, Metro Manila, Mindanao, and France. Jordz 17:15, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
How common is it that your contributors meet in real life?
- There were informal meet-ups in Cebu City during the first two years of our Wikipedia. Two of our active contributors meet almost daily in Cebu. The Philippine community has had five meet-ups: four in Metro Manila and one in Cebu City. Most of the attendees are from the English Wikipedia, but a few from that community also contribute to the Cebuano Wikipedia. Jordz 17:15, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have special contacts with another Wikipedias (maybe in related languages)?
- Yes, the Philippine Wikipedia community in the English, Tagalog, and Waray-Waray Wikipedias do have contact as some editors on these Wikipedias also contribute on the Cebuano Wikipedia (the administrator of the Waray-Waray Wikipedia contributed heavily in our Wikipedia). We also keep contact with the other Philippine-language Wikipedias (Bikol, Ilokano, Chavacano, etc.). We also keep in touch with contributors from the Spanish and French Wikipedias. Do you translate a lot from other Wikipedias? Which ones?
- Many newly-written articles are translations of the English counterparts, and some are from the Tagalog and Waray-Waray Wikipedias . We also have original articles written in Cebuano. Is there a Wikimedia chapter in your country? How does your language relate to it?
- The Cebuano Wikipedia, in addition to all other Philippine-language Wikipedias (present and future), will be covered under Wikimedia Philippines (WMPH), the first Wikimedia chapter in Southeast Asia to be conceived (to the best of my knowledge) and the second to ever come into fruition, after Wikimedia Indonesia. Although English is the official working language of WMPH, documents and correspondence of the organization are translated into Cebuano. --Sky Harbor 13:48, 5 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Are there work groups in other organizations about Wikipedia?

Is there a language institution for your language, like an Academy, or a club of people interested in your language? Do you have contact with them?

What does the public outreach for your edition look like? Do you have fliers, give lectures, trainings etc.?
Do you get feedback from readers?
- Yes, some give out comments in our community page, some leave comments in the article page itself (which of course are reverted) a few others do write in the talk pages and a few blog their feedback. Jordz 17:51, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]
What other encyclopedias exist in your language?

Does your edition concentrate on certain topics, like your region and language, or Latin Wikipedia on Roman history and Christianity?
- We aim to cover all encyclopedic content, focusing on articles most needed by the Cebuano/Visayan user. Presently, the content of the Cebuano Wikipedia are mostly about places in France, specifically the communes of France. After these our content are broad and varied. Notable content are those dealing with the localities of the Philippines, Christianity, geography, history and food. Did your edition enjoy text donations, for example from older encyclopedias?

Is there a generally accepted norm about your language (spelling, dictionary, pronunciation)?
- Yes and no. The norm in our Wikipedia is based on the style of the oldest running magazine in the local language, presented in our manual of style. Concerning the Cebuano language, there is no "generally accepted norm" yet, nor officially sanctioned rules of grammar and spelling, as far as I know. Jordz 19:02, 20 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

How do you deal with different spellings, dialects etc. (like B.E. lift and A.E. elevator)?
- There are two major dialects of Cebuano, the dialect spoken generally in the Visayas and the one in Mindanao. We respect and accept these. The dialectal differences are mostly minor, however in cases where the divergence is significant, we follow the most often used form historically; checking it with the form in the print, media and the Internet.
