Hydriz
Welcome to Meta!
editHello Hydriz, and welcome to the Wikimedia Meta-Wiki! This website is for coordinating and discussing all Wikimedia projects. You may find it useful to read our policy page. If you are interested in doing translations, visit Meta:Babylon. You can also leave a note on Meta:Babel or Wikimedia Forum (please read the instructions at the top of the page before posting there). If you would like, feel free to ask me questions on my talk page. Happy editing! mickit 13:38, 28 November 2010 (UTC)
Thank You
editI wanted to personally thank you for your help with translations during the fundraiser. I appreciate the work you put in, and we couldn't have done it without you. Thanks again - Deniz (WMF) 22:14, 26 January 2011 (UTC)
- Oh? Thanks for your remark! I personally thought my translations were not used. Thanks again! Hydriz 14:16, 27 January 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for supporting Angika Wikipedia
editI must say earnest thanks to you for voting in favor of Angika Wikipedia. God bless you. Angpradesh 17:14, 20 March 2011 (UTC)
Thanks for supporting Croatian Wikinews
editThank you for voting. Btw, we say Croatian, not Croation language :) --Anton 008 16:43, 27 March 2011 (UTC)
- Sure, no problem. I just hope that you will take care of your Wikinews well! Hydriz 12:26, 28 March 2011 (UTC)
Global.js
editHi! I noticed your global.js is showing up in the speedy deletion category. Might be a good idea to use '{{delete' + '|Little or no meaning}}' in the code instead of putting the whole template in one string, so that MediaWiki doesn't think that the page is actually tagged for deletion. Jafeluv 12:46, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- I did it. I hope you do not mind. mickit 12:50, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
Also, thanks for cleaning up after my stupidity. Jafeluv 13:37, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
Wikibirthday

- Yes, I have scheduled for a deployment to those wikis next year. I was hoping to contact one of the bureaucrats on those wikis soon, are you able to help? --Hydriz (talk) 13:47, 29 December 2012 (UTC)

user category on PL-Wiki
editI hope you'll excuse me for editing your userpage on Pl-Wiki, where I changed your "Chinese traditional/simplified" fluency to just "Chinese fluency". It automatically generated categories, which in Polish were titled "simplified Chinese language, not script. Because mistaking script for language is all too common among people who do not know Chinese, we'd rather not have categories supporting such mistake. Thank you for your understanding!--Felis domestica (talk) 22:40, 14 January 2015 (UTC)

Global CSS/JS migration
editHello Hydriz. You have global scripts and styles in global.js and global.css, which you import using your local CSS/JS pages. Since August 2014, your global.js and global.css pages are loaded automatically on all wikis. Since you already import them yourself, you may experience script errors or tools being added twice. I can remove the global imports from your local pages using Synchbot (without touching other scripts). Do you want me to do that? —Pathoschild 23:24, 21 June 2015 (UTC)
- Yes please. Please delete
User:Hydriz/*.js
andUser:Hydriz/*.css
from all wikis (including closed wikis) except for en.wikipedia and simple.wikipedia. There are some wikis with additional pages (which are not the default vector.css/vector.js pages), but just delete them. Thanks! --Hydriz (talk) 06:36, 24 June 2015 (UTC)
- Sure. Do you want me to delete the non-skin CSS/JS pages like LiveClock.js too, or just the standard skin pages like chick.css? —Pathoschild 05:30, 27 June 2015 (UTC)
- Yes, please delete those as well. Thanks! --Hydriz (talk) 05:42, 27 June 2015 (UTC)

Internet Archive collections
editRe [1], did you acquire the right to change collection of other users' items? If not, isn't it better to suggest writing info@archive.org directly? --Nemo 19:39, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
- If I remember correctly, I believe this right has always been available for trusted admins on the Archive. I have always been moving new WikiTeam items into the collection as well, likewise for the Wikimania archives. --Hydriz (talk) 22:55, 27 August 2015 (UTC)
The Wikimedia Commons Gargle
editHi Hydriz,
Are you planning to continue saving Wikimedia Commons Grabs? --abián 11:24, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Abián: It's planned, but it's not of highest priority right now. Are you able to help out? --Hydriz (talk) 15:27, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
- How much time would it take? --abián 19:54, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
- Probably quite long. The size of Wikimedia Commons increases exponentially and archiving the more recent files will take a long time to finish. --Hydriz (talk) 16:23, 7 March 2016 (UTC)
- I think I could help from time to time. What should I exactly do? --abián 21:34, 23 March 2016 (UTC)
- @Nemo bis: Do you have more details to provide on archiving the more recent files? --Hydriz (talk) 17:03, 24 March 2016 (UTC)

Abián alerted me on IRC of this discussion. There isn't much to say, just run commonssql.py from Tools Labs, then commonsdownloader.py, then commonschecker.py. Some tweak might be needed, for instance I'm not sure "sql-s4" still works. Other than keeping an eye on disk usage and so on, there isn't much to do while the scripts run. The file can then be uploaded with your preferred method (usually I used ias3upload). Nemo 13:07, 26 March 2016 (UTC)
- Your scripts seem to work. I am too busy right now but, in a few weeks (~June), I will continue saving the Wikimedia Commons Grabs. Thanks for your comments. --abián 17:58, 13 April 2016 (UTC)
About interwiki links
editUser script to access other watchlists
editHi Hydriz,
If you remember, you participated in the 2019 Community Wishlist Survey, including the discussion for reviving "Crosswatch" to allow for cross-wiki watchlists (Community Wishlist Survey 2019/Watchlists/Revive Crosswatch tool).
I sent you this MassMessage because I wanted to let you know that I have made a user script to make accessing your watchlists on different wikis easier, since for now that wishlist item has not been actioned.
The way it works is that, on any wiki, when you look at your watchlist, there is a button labeled "CA" that takes you to the CentralAuth page for you. There, when looking at your own information, each link to a wiki ("meta.wikimedia.org", "www.wikidata.org", "de.wikipedia.org", etc.) is changed so that it links to your watchlist on that wiki.
If you are interested in using it, just add mw.loader.load(\'https//meta.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:DannyS712/Watchlist.js&action=raw&ctype=text/javascript');
to your global javascript page. This imports the code at m:User:DannyS712/Watchlist.js.
If you want to learn more, there is documentation for the script available at w:en:User:DannyS712/Watchlist. If you would like to discuss the script, talk to me at m:User talk:DannyS712.
Thanks, --05:50, 6 June 2019 (UTC)
Community Wishlist Survey 2020
editHello!
You are getting this message because you've previously participated in the Community Wishlist Survey, in either the Wikisource or Wiktionary categories. I wanted to let you know that this year's survey is now open for proposals. You can suggest technical changes until November 11. Unlike previous years, we are only accepting proposals for non-Wikipedia content projects with no dedicated teams (i.e., Wikibooks, Wiktionary, Wikiquote, Wikisource, Wikiversity, Wikispecies, Wikivoyage, and Wikinews). You can learn more on the survey page.
You can vote on proposals from November 20 to December 2. To keep the number of messages at a reasonable level, I won't send out a separate reminder to you about that. We look forward to your participation. Thank you! IFried (WMF) (talk) 18:52, 22 October 2019 (UTC)
Community Wishlist Survey 2019 - Section Name in Diff
editHello!
The Community Tech team (WMF) has officially started the project for Section Name in Diff, the #9 wish from the 2019 Community Wishlist Survey!
You previously voted for this wish, so we are now contacting you. We invite you to visit the project page, where you can read a project analysis and share your feedback.
We hope to see you on the project talk page, and thank you in advance!
guwiktionary bot flag removal notice
editPlease see wikt:gu:વિકિકોશ:સમુદાય મુખપૃષ્ઠ#અસક્રિય આંતરવિકિ બોટો. -- CptViraj (talk) 07:16, 6 October 2020 (UTC)
The 2021 Community Wishlist Survey is now open! This survey is the process where communities decide what the Community Tech team should work on over the next year. We encourage everyone to submit proposals until the deadline on 30 November, or comment on other proposals to help make them better. The communities will vote on the proposals between 8 December and 21 December.
The Community Tech team is focused on tools for experienced Wikimedia editors. You can write proposals in any language, and we will translate them for you. Thank you, and we look forward to seeing your proposals!
18:26, 20 November 2020 (UTC)
We invite all registered users to vote on the 2021 Community Wishlist Survey. You can vote from now until 21 December for as many different wishes as you want.
In the Survey, wishes for new and improved tools for experienced editors are collected. After the voting, we will do our best to grant your wishes. We will start with the most popular ones.
We, the Community Tech, are one of the Wikimedia Foundation teams. We create and improve editing and wiki moderation tools. What we work on is decided based on results of the Community Wishlist Survey. Once a year, you can submit wishes. After two weeks, you can vote on the ones that you're most interested in. Next, we choose wishes from the survey to work on. Some of the wishes may be granted by volunteer developers or other teams.
We are waiting for your votes. Thank you!

Invitation for Functionary consultation 2021
editGreetings SWMT member,
I'm letting you know in advance about a meeting I'd like to invite you to regarding the Universal Code of Conduct and the community's ownership of its future enforcement. I'm still in the process of putting together the details, but I wanted to share the date with you: 10 July, 2021. I do not have a time on this date yet, but I will let you soon. We have created a meta page with basic information. Please take a look at the meta page and sign up your name under the appropriate section.
Thank you for your time.--BAnand (WMF) 03:21, 3 June 2021 (UTC)
archive.org Wikimedia dumps stopped
editHello!
I noticed that the regular Wikimedia project dumps to archive.org seem to have stopped on November 25, 2022, and just wanted to check in on the status of that project.
