A horse often accompanied the Man on Fire during his activities in 1984. It was identified by some fiery tethers as well as a horn of fire emerging from its head. It had significant injuries on the right side of its body including burns, while the other half was white in appearance. It was also capable of flight by manifesting giant wings of fire on its sides and was strong enough to knock aside an ambulance by charging into it. Overall, it resembled a burning statue of a horse that was outside Dhekelia SBA Memorial Hospital.
During the hospital raid in 1984, the Man on Fire used the horse to pursue Ocelot and Venom Snake. It later accompanied him when he had his final confrontation with Snake in Northern Kabul, Afghanistan. However, after the Man on Fire, whose true identity was Yevgeny Borisovitch Volgin, learned that Snake was not actually Big Boss, the _target of his vendetta, the horse died alongside its rider.
After Volgin's remains were secured and placed on the Quarantine Platform of Snake's offshore base, the horse was used as the inspiration for D-Horse's Furicorn armor, although the armor could not replicate the original's pyrokinetic abilities.[1]
