The Rampage is a type of event and unique quests introduced in Monster Hunter Rise. They play an important role in the story. The main goal of quest is to defend main gate from the rampaging monsters and their leaders, the Apex Monsters (MHRise), and the Source of Rampage, Wind Serpent Ibushi.
Overview
The Rampage is an event occurring in the region close to the Kamura Village every 50 years. During this event, hordes of monsters march through the region, threatening to destroy anything and everything in their path. The screech was from an Crimson Glow Valstrax serves an a warning for Rampage other powerful monsters and elder dragons showing up.
For a time it was believed that Magnamalo was behind the Rampage due to it showing up at the battlement of old Kamura village, wreaking havoc and caused the old Kamura to be destroyed. However, 50 years later, it was discovered that the true source were a pair of Elder Dragons, the Twin Serpents, Ibushi and Narwa.
It is revealed that, the rampaging monsters and Apexes were actually fleeing from the storms created by Ibushi and Narwa. Thus, they are willing to destroy anything in their way in order to escape. The Rampage was put to an end once and for all after Narwa the Allmother has been slain. Another Narwa the Allmother was discovered by Elgado Outpost, thus the Fierce Flame was sent to hunt it and successfully prevent the Rampage from returning.

- Initially, Rampage Quests were the only place where a player(s) could face the Apex Monsters (MHRise) and Wind Serpent Ibushi.
- This changed when both Title 1 and 2 Update came out, allowing the monsters to be fought outside of Rampage Quests through Gathering Quests.
- Apex Rathalos and Apex Diablos were added to Rampage Quests in Version 2.0 Update on April 28, 2021. Additionally, Magnamalo can now appear in Rampage Quests.
- Apex Zinogre was added as the last addition to Rampage Quests in Version 3.0 on May 27, 2021.
- Several monsters are not present in the Rampage. These include all Small Monsters, Great Baggi, Kulu-Ya-Ku, Lagombi, Volvidon, Barroth, Royal Ludroth, Somnacanth, Tobi-Kadachi, Jyuratodus, Barioth, Goss Harag, All Elder Dragons with the exception of Ibushi, and any monster introduced in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.

Trivia
- The Rampage is based on Hyakki Yagyō (Night Parade of One Hundred Demons), a Japanese folklore legend where a horde of yōkai march through village streets of Japan, spiriting away any who stand in its path.
- As such, most of Rise’s original monsters are based on said yōkai.
- The name is further referenced by Narwa the Allmother’s Japanese name, “Origin of a Hundred Dragons Naruhatatahime.”
- The Rampage Quests do not receive a Master Rank version in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. [1]
- The reason is due to the Rampage having been stopped with Narwa the Allmother's death.
- Second, due to the Sunbreak taking place in a new region called Elgado Outpost and different crisis to deal with: the Qurio.
- The Rampage Quests are similar to Siege Quests and certain Elder Dragon Quests like Lao-Shan Lung.
- Both involved defending the objective from or slain said moving monster before time runs out.
- In TEPPEN, Utsushi actually has to START another Rampage in order to save the overtaken Kamura Village from the Genma hordes occupying it.
