A small crowd gathers as Olivia (with the live cat), Barkley, and two kids holding the appropriate props take their places. Marv poses two questions hoping to be answered tonight: can Gladys jump over the moon, and will the dish run away with the spoon? Excited to be on TV, Gladys gets some final encouragement from her coach Gordon and addresses her moxie: "I always give 110% - ask anyone whose milked me!" She takes a running start and sails into the sky, but jumps under the moon instead.
SCENE 3 cont'd |
Gordon finds Gladys fallen into some bushes, and is embarrassed over her crash and ready to give up. Gordon encourages her to keep trying and suggests taking a longer running start. She tries again and gets a little closer, but ends with the same result - a big crash, which leaves Marv concerned about her psychological welfare.
SCENE 3 cont'd |
Gordon now persuades a battered and tearful Gladys to do a yell on her next jump. Sure enough, this is enough for Gladys to sail over the moon! In sight of the spectacle, Barkley "laughs" and the dish and spoon zip out of sight. Upon landing, Gladys returns and is rewarded with a wreath of flowers. The exhausted but proud cow has one thing to say to the television audience - "Hi, mom!" Marv wraps up the coverage for Sesame Street Sports before getting lost in the crowd of happy spectators waving at the camera.

Grover orders a glass of milk, and the bartender asks if he wants the big glass, the bigger glass or the biggest glass. Fred tells the bartender that Marshal Grover doesn't know the difference, so the bartender shows off all three sizes. Marshal Grover and Fred come behind the bar to get a closer look, breaking bottles and glassware. The annoyed bartender shouts at Grover to choose a glass, and Grover picks the biggest glass. The bartender asks if Fred wants anything, but Fred says, "No thanks, I'm drivin'." As Grover rides his horse out of the café, the bartender asks who's going to pay for all this stuff. Grover says he'll be back to pay for it tomorrow. Panicked, the bartender says not to come back; it's on the house! (First: Episode 0683)
