"Lullaby of Broadway" was performed by pigs dressed as Eskimos for the opening number of episode 304 of The Muppet Show.

This segment was the first appearance of a Muppet penguin, incidentally designed by Brian Henson. Henson recalled in a 2013 interview on George Stroumboulopoulos Tonight that he was honored that Frank Oz chose to perform the character, although he suspects it was at least partially done for Brian's sake.

The song was also performed during Muppets on Location: Days of Swine and Roses.

The song was originally written for the movie Gold Diggers of 1935, and it won an Academy Award for 'Best Song' in that year. In 1951, Warner Brothers released a film named after the song which starred Doris Day. The song was also included in the Broadway version of 42nd Street.
