• Simon Lucas and Tommy Kalmar have commented that 2015 was a "big year" for the Ninjago franchise and it was when "everything really blew up," meaning this was a great year of growth for the theme.
• This marks the 2nd year to have 2 seasons release ("Tournament of Elements" and "Possession"), with the 1st being 2012 ("Rise of the Snakes" and "Legacy of the Green Ninja").
