- This set is the cheapest way to get Digi Kai.
- This set is one of four Season 12 sets to have a different type of instruction booklet, now having a progress bar at the bottom of the booklet and images of the ninja throughout the booklet, the other sets being 71709 Jay and Lloyd's Velocity Racers, 71715 Jay Avatar - Arcade Pod, and 71716 Lloyd Avatar - Arcade Pod.
- This set includes Kai's new hairpiece for the first time in a Ninjago set not part of The LEGO Ninjago Movie, albeit in blonde.
- There is a possible reference on the back of Kai's avatar. On the back, there is what seems to be a logo with a cobra on it. The word 'cobra' combined with Kai's name would be "Cobra Kai". This may be a reference to Cobra Kai from the Karate Kid franchise.
- This is the only Arcade Pod set with an avatar without triangle marks on the body.
- Avatar Kai uses the same leg printing as
SOTFS Kai.
