(In Ninjago City, the citizens run from the Vengestone Guards.)

Man #1: We're trapped!

Gamer 2: What do we do?

(The ninja speed through the streets in their vehicles.)

Jay: What do you say we test out this new power boost?

Cole: I was hoping you'd say that.

Kai: On three, two, one! (They activate the power boosts.) Fiyah!

(They destroy many Vengestone Guards with their vehicles.)

Jay: Everyone get inside, quick!

Man #2: It's the old ninja!

Man #3: Oh, they're back!

Man #4: Let 'em have it, guys!

(At Kryptarium Prison, the inmates are watching Vinny's broadcast of the city.)

Inmate #1: Hey, check it out! It's the ninja!

Inmate #2: I hope they get their butts kicked.

Ronin: Show some respect.

Inmate #1: What do you care, Ronin? Those ninja threw us in here, you included!

Ronin: Maybe. But they're risking their lives. That takes guts.

Inmate #2: Let 'em, I say. If the ninja get wiped out, there'll be nobody to stop us next time.

Inmate #1: Yeah! We'll be able to steal whatever we want!

Ronin: What are you gonna steal if the whole city's obliterated, numbskull? The ninja might have busted us, but right now, they're fighting to save all Ninjago, including us. And they're not doing it for money. So the next jerk who says something bad about 'em ... gets a knuckle sandwich.

Inmate #2: Uh, yeah. Go ninja!

Inmate #1: Y—Yeah! I always said they got good hearts!

(On the Destiny's Bounty, Nya is monitoring the ninjas' vehicles.)

Nya: Jay, Cole, Kai. You're overheating your engines. You need to ease off the power boost.

Jay: Aw, man! This power boost is awesome!

Lloyd: It won't be awesome if you blow out your engine. Ease up.

Cole: You got it. Powering down.

Kai: Affirmative.

Jay: Party pooper.

Lloyd: Master Wu, is that the Golden Armor?

Wu: Yes, with a few enhancements, thanks to P.I.X.A.L.. You didn't think I would sit out the most important battle of our time? A battle against the very forces of darkness?

Garmadon: Hmm. If you think the Golden Armor will protect you from the power of the Overlord, you are mistaken.

Lloyd: Do you have anything positive to say?

Garmadon: Hmm. I am positive we will lose.

Lloyd: If you're so convinced we're doomed, why did you even come? (He leaves angrily.)

Wu: Lloyd, wait! (He runs after Lloyd.)

Nya: Why are you carrying around a plant?

Garmadon: It was the only green in my life. I had hoped it would grow, and thrive, and perhaps, one day ... forgive me. But now it's gone, and I am alone.

Nya: We're talking about the plant, right?

Garmadon: Of course! What else?

Nya: Well, you're in luck. That's a baracis ninjagai. They're pretty hardy. My mom's a terrible gardener, and even she couldn't kill one of those off. They look dead, but they come back. Yeah, see? A tiny bud. You just repot it and it'll sprout. It'll just need ... water. (She leaves sadly.)

Garmadon: Christofern ... lives?

(Atop the Crystal Island, Harumi and the Overlord watch as Zane flies towards them.)

Harumi: The ninja approach, master.

Overlord: Let the fools come. This temple will drain their vehicles and leave them powerless.

Harumi: Perhaps we should take cover?

Overlord: He's shot missiles at us before. They did minimal — (Zane's missiles hit the temple and the two fall over.) How? Wait. Ah, yes, I see. Some kind of shielding.

(Nya shoots cables from the Destiny's Bounty and begins pulling the temple away.)

Harumi: What's happening?

Overlord: The fools! They're trying to drag us from the city! Release the Dragonides!

Nya: Look out! (The Dragonides attack the Bounty.) Lloyd!

(A Dragonide crushes Christofern.)

Garmadon: For Christofern! (He transforms into his Oni Form and attacks the Dragonides.)

Nya: Come on, elemental powers! I need you back! Any time now!

Garmadon: (He makes brief eye contact with Harumi.) Harumi?

Nya: The thruster is gone! Hold on!

Lloyd: Harumi! You have to stop this! (He watches as Wu leaps off the Bounty and glides to the Crystal Island.) Whoa!

Garmadon: Brave, brother. Brave, but foolish.

(On the ground, a Dragonide picks up Kai's vehicle.)

Cole: I didn't know your vehicle could fly!

Kai: It can't! It can't! Where did they come from?

Cole: Kai! Blast them off!

Kai: What do you think I'm doing?

(They scream as the Dragonide drops Kai's vehicle on Cole's.)

Zane: My energy blasts are not causing sufficient damage! There must be a structural weakness — (A Dragonide leaps onto his jet.) Mayday! Mayday! I am going down! I am ejecting! (He attempts to eject, but fails.) Eject system failure! (He closes his eyes as he crashes.)

Overlord: (To Wu) Do you truly think you have a chance against me?

Wu: Even if I did not, I would oppose you to my last breath! (He clashes with the Overlord.) My father used to tell stories about you around the campfire. About your viciousness. I grew up afraid of you, but then I realized — all his stories end the same way. With your defeat!

Overlord: Fool. Your father never won. All he did was maintain the balance by dividing the island in two. He only delayed the inevitable. But now, the end is upon you. No more delays. No more balance.

Wu: So long as I live, I will forever oppose you!

Overlord: That is why you must be the first to fall. (He blasts Wu off the Crystal Island.)

Lloyd: No! Come on, Master Wu.

Garmadon: Brother?

(Wu regains consciousness and activates his glider in time.)

Lloyd: Yeah.

(The Overlord uses his powers on the central crystal.)

Nya: What's he doing?

Garmadon: Gathering his power.

(A shockwave surges through the city and crystalizes everything.)

Overlord: Finally, you see the true scope of my power! (He blasts the Bounty and sets it on fire.)

Jay: Nya!

Nya: The air brakes! The air brakes! It's our only chance!

(Lloyd hits the air brakes, which slows the Bounty's descent but snaps it in half.)

Nya: Lloyd!

Lloyd: Nya!

Overlord: So the end begins.
