Perhaps, to connect with my power of Ice, I must return to ice. I would like to return to the Frozen Lake.
The frozen pond,[1] also known as the Frozen lake,[2] is a pond in Ninjago where Master Wu found Zane.
History
Prior to the series
Because Zane was good at holding his breath, he decided to go test his skills in the frozen pond.[1] Encouraged by the villagers, he persevered to meditate at the bottom of the lake for a very long time, until he noticed that Wu was sitting next to him drinking tea underwater. When they emerged, Wu asked Zane to join him, and he agreed.[3]
Never Trust a Snake
As part of their petty crime spree, Lloyd and Pythor visited the pond and threw stones at two boys' toy boats, sinking them.
Quest for the Lost Powers
Zane returns to the Frozen pond in an attempt to regain his Elemental Powers, where he would dive in and meditate like he once did. P.I.X.A.L.'s memory technology activates remotely and Zane begins to relive his memories of Dr. Julien's passing. After reliving these memories, he comes face to face with his Ice Emperor self and urges P.I.X.A.L to get him out. He then quickly swims back to the surface.

Trivia
- The concept art and the pond's appearance in "Never Trust a Snake" indicate the pond is frozen only during the winter.
- This is the only one of the three locations where Wu met the three original ninja (the others being the tallest mountain of Ninjago and the rooftop where Jay crashed his glider) not to be revisited in a flashback in Season 8 or 9. This is because Wu met Zane earlier in the Birchwood Forest as revealed in "Snake Jaguar," which Zane did not remember at the time of "The Golden Weapon" because his memory switch had been turned off at the time (as revealed in "Tick Tock").
