Plot
During the Cavern Run, Sora splits the Combo Vehicle into four to avoid the toxic goo. Back in the Wolf Clan's quarters, Ras tells Arin Master Wu caused the Merge, making him the only person responsible for not only the disappearance of Arin's parents, but everything the Merge did as a result. Arin refuses to believe it and Ras responds saying the Ninja are not always good and he is not always bad. Ras claims everything he has done was so he could reverse the Merge and says the process could bring back everyone who was lost in it. Ras allows Arin and Riyu leave the quarters. Back at the race, Sora finds the Pace Dragon. The four ninja run into a cave-in inside the tunnel with no other way through. Sora combines the four vehicles together. The combined vehicle breaks through the wall. They overtake the pace dragon and win the race. Roby announces that the ninja are still in the Tournament of the Sources. Elsewhere, Riyu tries to comfort Arin while he contemplates what Ras told him. Riyu tells him Ras is probably lying and Arin says he is not the ninja he should be and hopes Ras was lying. Riyu hears Kai ask for help again and runs off.
At the Games Plaza, Euphrasia and Zeatrix are battling on floating platforms. Zeatrix uses her elemental power of Shockwave to knock Euphrasia off her platform. Roby uses the Elemental Cup to transfer Euphrasia’s power of Wind to Zeatrix. In the next round, Tox fights Nokt. Nokt uses Shatterspin to easily defeat Tox but continues taking shots at her when Roby had already declared him the winner. The Security Bots take Tox away on a stretcher. Sora overhears Nokt call Jordana sister.
Elsewhere, Frak is training when Arin walks up to him. Arin informs Frak of the evil Ras has done but Frak does not believe him. Arin asks Frak if he has used Shatterspin and tells him not to do so, warning it would shatter his goodness. Frak refuses to believe Ras only cares about power and tells Arin to copy some of his moves that he has learnt from his master. Frak tells Arin he has learnt to take from life what you need. Arin laments about his Spinjitzu training and Frak quotes Ras, saying they must force the progress they need. Arin does a proper Spinjitzu tornado and feels elated about doing so when he is reminded he performed it because of the moves Frak showed him. Frak heads over to the Games Plaza as Ras instructs him to and Arin follows behind.
Back in the Games Plaza, Lloyd fights Mr. Pale. He blinds Lloyd with a beam of light, prompting Lloyd to ask him about his new ability. Mr. Pale turns invisible and Lloyd uses Spinjitzu, causing dust to fly on Mr. Pale and reveal his location. Lloyd kicks Mr. Pale off the floating platform and Roby declares Lloyd the winner. Roby uses the Elemental Cup to transfer Mr. Pale's elemental power of Light to Lloyd, revealing Mr. Pale's face.
Roby announces Cole and Frak as the next two competitors. Frak expresses how he feels of honored to compete against Cole. Roby explains the rules of the game, saying the first to ring the bell in the center of the obstacle course wins. Bleckt rings his bell and the game begins. Frak uses his power of Quake to shake the obstacles, causing Cole to fall off. Cole uses his power over Earth to make a pillar of rock for him to stand on. While the match goes on, Sora asks Arin if he now believes Frak is on Ras' team like she had told him. Sora tells Arin she would never lie to him before he confronts her about faking his Object Spinjitzu with her elemental power. She admits it is the truth, saying she just wanted Arin to succeed. Arin walks away. Frak uses his power again and Cole comments on how the course seemed like it was made for Frak's power. Frak rings the bell and Roby announces him as the winner. Roby transfers Cole's power to Frak. Cole tells the rest of the ninja that the matches seemed weighted against them.
Sometime later, Lloyd, Nya and Sora train. Sora accidentally performs a double backflip and lands on one leg. Lloyd asks Sora about her move and she reminds him she got the elemental power of Balance after her previous match. Lloyd tells Sora she will not achieve Spinjitzu if she is distracted. She replies saying there is a lot on her mind and looks at Arin. Jordana asks Ras if he should have told Arin all that information and Ras responds, saying he omitted some of his intentions but the truths he spoke to Arin about will poison his mind. Ras says his goal in the tournament is to gain control of the elemental powers to create Dragon Icons used to summon the Source Dragons. Nokt witnesses this conversation from behind a wall.
Later, Roby announces Nya and Nokt as the next two competitors. Roby explains the rules of the match, saying whoever gets the majority of the three gems will win. The game begins and the two start fighting. Nokt looks around for a gem and both him and Nya see it appear. Nokt takes the gem and earns a point. A few moments later, they both see a gem appear and Nya grabs it. Nokt performs Shatterspin and Nya uses Rising Dragon to counteract it. After more combat, Nya tries to take the last gem but it disappears and reappears next to Nokt. He gets hold of it and Roby declares him the winner. Roby transfers Nya's water and lightning power to Nokt.
The Ninja regroup and Lloyd tries to encourage them. Roby announces Sora and Cinder as the next two competitors. Roby explains that the competitors must solve puzzles to get to the end and win. Arin tells Ras that Sora admitted to faking his Object Spinjitzu. Arin says Jay may know where his parents went and Ras claims he knows all the information Jay knows. The game begins and Sora uses her technology power to make a weapon. She blasts Cinder with it, knocking him out. Sora pulls the levers, causing the metal pillar in the center of the floating platform to drop and connect to the next platform. Cinder gets up and Sora turns the weapon into a cage, trapping him. Cinder puts on a Wolf Mask and Ras rings the Gong of Shattering, letting Cinder use Shatterspin. Sora inputs a simple code into a number lock, causing a rope to lower. She uses it to swing over to the last platform. Cinder tries to stop her but falls into the fire below the platforms. She puts the metal ball in the middle of the last platform and Roby declares her the winner. Roby transfers Cinder's Smoke and Heat powers to Sora using the Elemental Cup.
Later at night, a yellow orb flies through the sky and into the Ninja's quarters. It hovers above Cole, waking him up. Outside, Arin uses the techniques Frak taught him to practice Spinjitzu and Ras watches him from afar. The yellow orb guides Cole to the edge of a cliff and shows him a monastery.

Trivia
Continuity
- This episode marks the first appearance of the element of Poison since "The Gilded Path," as well as its first appearance in the WildBrain animation style.
- Lloyd using Spinjitzu to kick up dust so he can see Mr. Pale after he goes invisible is similar to when Cole punched the pillar to kick up dust to see Mr. Pale in "Only One Can Remain" when the constants of the Tournament of Elements were fighting for the Jadeblades, even down to Cole also using Spinjitzu to take the Jadeblade from Mr. Pale.
- This marks the first time Mr. Pale is visibly seen.
- In "The Forgotten Element" when Mr. Pale's Light power was stolen by Chen, his body stayed invisible while this ability is due to his power, but this time after losing his powers he lost this ability, revealing his physical appearance, so its unclear why this change happened now instead of then.
- Arin is finally able to do a proper Spinjitzu, however, energy waves from the effects of Shatterspin can be seen in his tornado due to him learning through Ras' teaching from Frak.
- Additionally, Arin is the first Ninja we've seen since Lloyd to have unlocked proper Spinjitzu on screen, the last time was in "Pirates vs. Ninja" over 12 years before this episode aired.
Errors
- When Sora says "Great idea, Nya", the lower part of her mask moves out of sync.
