One Piece Card Game (ONE PIECEカードゲーム, Wan Pīsu Kādo Gēmu?) is a trading card game (TCG) released by Carddass and licensed by Shueisha. First announced on March 7, 2022, this card game released in Japan in July 2022 as part of One Piece's 25th-anniversary celebrations.[1] The game released worldwide later in 2022.[2]
Overview
Cards feature full-color illustrations. Each card has different attributes and point values.
A card's artwork generally originates from one of four sources: the manga (and novel A), the anime, a new illustration for the card, or "other". Thus far, "other" has included figurine images, One Piece episode A, Shonen Jump 1997 #34's cover, Naoshi Komi's artwork of Vivi and Luffy, and the live-action series.
Starter Decks
Starter Decks are packs of cards generally intended to include a full, playable set. Each Starter Deck includes 17 variations of cards, with one, two, or four of each card, depending on its rarity; in total, each Starter Deck includes 61 cards. The cards in Starter Decks are usually unique to that deck, with only alternate art versions of the cards releasing elsewhere.
Four Starter Decks were released at launch, for ¥990 each (tax included). Since launch, more starter decks have been steadily releasing. In addition, a combo release of ST-01, ST-02, and ST-05 released in April 2023, titled the Family Deck Set (ファミリーデッキセット, Famirī Dekki Setto?) and informally given the code 【ST-11】, though this was later removed.[3]
Cards released in Starter Decks use the designation ST (such as "ST9-012", the 12th card in the 9th deck).
ST-15 to ST-20 were all announced and released at the same time, and had corresponding themes.
