Snow Sculptures

Snow sculptures (雪像, setsuzō?) are sculptures formed from snow. A common type of snow sculpture is a snowman (雪だるま, yukidaruma?). Certain snow sculptures in the series have been given names and other attributes.

List of Snow Sculptures

These four snow sculptures received an entry in Vivre Card - One Piece Visual Dictionary.[1][2][3][4]

Snowman-san

Snowman-san (雪だるさん, Yukidaru-san?, English versions: "Mr. Snowman") was a snowman created by Monkey D. Luffy aboard the Going Merry on the voyage to Whisky Peak. It had a body consisting of two spheres, sticks acting as its arms and a nose, a cape, and a barrel on its head. It was destroyed by Usopp in retaliation for Luffy ruining his snow sculpture.[5] Its birthday was February 18.[1]

Techniques

  • Yukidaru Punch (雪だるパンチ, Yukidaru Panchi?, literally "Snowman Punch"): A technique where Luffy hits one of the sticks acting as the snowman's arms, causing it to fly out and "punch" a _target. It was first used to destroy the Snow Queen's head. It is known as Snowman Punch in the VIZ manga, but unnamed in the Funimation dub.[5]

Snow Queen

The Snow Queen (スノウクイーン, Sunō Kuīn?) was a snow sculpture of a woman created by Usopp at the same time Luffy created Snowman-san. The woman was depicted sitting on a chair, dressed in a knee-length robe, and bore resemblance to Kaya. The sculpture's head was destroyed by Snowman-san's "Yukidaru Punch".[5] Its birthday was February 18.[2]

Hyper Snowman-san

Hyper Snowman-san (ハイパー雪だるさん, Haipā Yukidaru-san?, English versions: "Super Snowman") was a much larger version of Snowman-san created by Luffy in the town of Bighorn on Drum Island. It was destroyed by Sanji who was angry that Luffy and Usopp were playing around at a critical time.[6]

Shirora

Shirora (シロラー, Shirorā?) was a snow monster created by Usopp. It resembled a dinosaur standing on two legs and was comparable in size to Luffy's Hyper Snowman-san. It was also destroyed by Sanji.[6]

Trivia

Riceman
Luffy's "Riceman-san".
  • An anime-original scene in Episode 96 calls back to these sculptures, with Luffy and Usopp building new "snowmen" out of rice (and being once again punished by Sanji).
