Pendragon

Pendragon

Pendragon is a shovel and one of the 21 Great Grade blades. It is wielded by Liberio A. Jupiter as his main weapon.[1]

Appearance

Pendragon is a shovel with a longer than average handle, comparable to that of a staff with a color scheme comprised of greys and blues with red and gold accent. With intricate details that cover the majority of the blade, its most notable feature is a hole in the center of it.

Abilities

Jupiter - Pact Pack
Jupiter utilizes Pendragon in the first burst of his Haoshoku Haki.

While its rank is unknown, Pendragon is an exceptionally durable weapon. Even without being imbued with Busoshoku Haki, it sustained Miori biting down on it without damage.[2][3]

In the New Dog, Old Tricks Arc, the shovel proved to be capable of sustaining greater threats as Jupiter's training progressed. Despite he and Maurier Harlan's second fight resulting in it being melted down, once reforged Jupiter proved capable of it sustaining various attacks. In addition, he had shown capable of seamlessly infusing Busoshoku Haki and ice through the weapon.

During the Returning A Favor Arc Jupiter briefly showed its enhanced durability in a clash that left the shovel undamaged.

History

Past

Sometime in the past, Pendragon was created by an unknown Blacksmith and ultimately discarded.

Modern Warfare Arc

At some point prior to the Sea Generals entrance to the battlefield, Jupiter attained the shovel.[1] Naming it Pendragon,[4] he has since used it in all of his battles.

While the shovel bore no unique qualities aside from the hole in its center, Jupiter believed it to be a versatile tool that served as a great replacement to his previous one.

Trivia

Pendragon - Human
Pendragon as a human.
  • It is named after the epithet of Uther Pendragon, meaning "head dragon" and used figuratively to refer to the "top of the command chain".
  • The choice of a shovel as Jupiter's main weapon was to follow the theme of the character being a sort of treasure hunter.
  • The creator Wired drew Pendragon personified, depicting it as an eccentric man with gaudy features and a hole through his stomach.
