Edit-a-thon and memorandum for collaboration with the Memorial House Of Mother Theresa
Edit-a-thon and collaboration with the Memorial House of Mother Theresa
This month we managed to establish a memorandum for collaboration with the Memorial House of Mother Theresa, located here in Skopje, Macedonia. We agreed upon exchanging materials and information about the museum itself, and around the life and work of Mother Theresa and her associates. In order to start the collaboration effectively we held a edit-a-thon in the memorial house, where the employees there created and edited articles on the previously mentioned topics.
On the edit-a-thon, first of Shared Knowledge for 2017, held on February 16th, 4 employees, one Shared Knowledge volunteer and two employees created and edited articles, and uploaded couple of photos from the museum on Commons. The main article about Mother Theresa was greatly edited, adding more information, correcting information that was untrue, and supplying more facts. Several articles about Mother Theresa's followers were made as well.
We expect more articles written based on the information that the institution will provide us.
On the end of the day, during four hours edit-a-thon 8 completely new articles were created, the main article about Mother Theresa was greatly improved, and 50 new photographs were uploaded on Commons, thanks to our new volunteer. The whole gallery with photos of the Memorial House and images during Mother Teresa editathon you can find on Commons.
