Removed "use image description as caption" as that is a matter for the parent bug.
I agree we shouldn't have the image metadata page, but currently the upload flow shows no preview. I didn't plan for that to stay the case though. If we show a thumbnail on the 2nd page we can definitely skip the image metadata page.

So I've marked this as blocked by T53032 but our case is slightly simpler because we're dealing with a new image so we know the description won't contain a bunch of templates and tables yet. I think we have an opportunity here to explain the difference between description and caption and make it simple for the user to fill them out (including the case where they are the same).

I think we can use the description for the caption and maybe even alternate text. If we keep the text selected its easier for the user to completely change it too, if they so wish.
I think we have an opportunity here to explain the difference between description and caption and make it simple for the user to fill them out (including the case where they are the same).
The field description is currently hidden behind the information icon. Are we ok with changing that?
Noting that the image description may be used as the caption during the upload process might be helpful too.
